We are looking for registered dental assistants to work part-time at the Oral Health Clinic. Instructing in clinics is a rewarding experience where you will make a positive impact on students while providing much-needed treatment to the community. Position duties
You will be part of a team responsible for providing meaningful and motivating learning experiences for our students that encourage discovery and citizenship.
You will:
- Supervise students assisting and performing clinic procedures on patients.
- Ensure the safety of patients and students by ensuring the quality of care and confidentiality of information is upheld.
- Provide expertise and advice on skills within the scope of practice of a dental assistant.
- Assess student performance in clinical skills and professional behaviour.
- Mentor professional behaviour; interactions with patients, support staff, colleagues, and students in the clinic.
- Demonstrate clinical procedures.
Qualifications
Applicants should be:
- Certificate in dental assisting from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Registered with, or eligible for registration with, the College of Alberta Dental Assistants (CADA).
- Experienced in clinical practice.
- Clinical teaching experience preferred.

Contracts align with each of the terms. They are either August to May, or April to January. Causal hours will vary based on program needs.
Clinics run between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., with some peer labs running from 5 to 8 p.m.
Instructors are there to supervise, guide, mentor, and instruct dental assisting students.
This is a paid position.
Yes. Instructors must hold a certificate in dental assisting from a recognized post-secondary institution. All applicants must be registered with or eligible to be registered with the College of Alberta Dental Assistants (CADA).
