Service + Administration

Faculty members contribute to provide service administration and leadership in a variety of ways. Faculty development to assist in these skills is offered through workshops, mentorship and other resources.

Workshops

Deciding How to Decide Workshop

Having a framework for a full spectrum of decision-making models, from autocratic to delegated and everything in-between, can be useful for anyone who must make decisions on a regular basis. In one hour, we will name decision making styles and look at a model developed for leaders to determine the optimal style for any given situation, with time to practice in small groups.

Practicing Difficult Conversations Workshop

Responding to surveyed priorities among the FoMD, this workshop will use solicited and carefully anonymized case studies and scenarios to work through common professional conversations that participants identify as both challenging and relevant. Using a combination of facilitative techniques, this workshop will offer opportunities for participants to explore difficult conversations through discussion, enactment, reflection, and peer collaboration
