Rural Funding
These scholarships support students with a focus on rural medicine:
This scholarship honors Dr. Michael Tarrant, a family Calgary physician who championed rural medical education. He worked for better rural practices for Alberta's future physicians. It is awarded annually to a 海角社区 or University of Calgary medical student in their third year who demonstrates an interest in rural medicine.
The Northern Alberta Development Council provides up to $12,000 over to the course of two years for medical students in their last two years of study who wish to work up in northern Alberta.
RhPAP offers up to two awards of $5,000 each to first- and second-year medical students who demonstrate a strong interest in and commitment to rural practice.
