R. Field

Interim Director, PLLC

Richard Field was appointed director of the Peter Lougheed Leadership College (PLLC) on November 1, 2023, and will hold this position for three years. He previously served as interim director for a one-year term that began on July 1, 2021. Richard brings extensive experience to his role as director, having earned his PhD from the University of Toronto in Leadership and Organizational Behaviour, an MBA from McMaster University, and a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo. He has been a professor at the Alberta School of Business for over 30 years.

L. Wong

INT D 407 Capstone Course Professor

Leo Wong is the Associate Dean, Education, for the Alberta School of Business and Professor for Peter Lougheed Leadership College. Beginning in the Fall of 2024, he teaches the capstone course, INT D 407. In this course, students engage with one another in project-directed groups, including the leadership skills, theory and research they have enacted and participated in during their leadership education journey. Real-world problems are presented, analyzed, and addressed head-on, offering real-world experiences to motivate students to continue their leadership journeys beyond their time at the university.

Course Coordinator

With a PhD in educational psychology and a specialty in education technology, Erik uses psychological principles to engage students through applied technology. He joined the  team in 2021 as Project Coordinator during a reimagining of PLLC's student offerings, resulting in the Inspired to Lead course series. Now, Erik ensures the instructional team and the PLLC director have the support they need as leadership programming expands. His role also includes Course Coordinator for the gateway course, INT D 101, allowing him to connect directly with teaching assistants and students as they pursue their leadership goals. 


Kendra Woodall, course coordinator

Course Coordinator

Kendra received First-Class Honors in her BsC Honors program in Immunology and Infection at the UofA as well as a Certificate in Biomedical Research. She directly entered graduate studies and completed her MSc in Physiology, Cell and Developmental Biology. During this time, she was a teaching assistant for INT D 207 and INT D 307 and continued her involvement after graduation. Kendra has thoroughly enjoyed coordinating these courses, creating course content, and connecting with students. She is grateful to be a part of the PLLC and to contribute wherever possible.

R. Khan

Course Instructor

A second-year MSc in Public Health student with a Certificate in Interdisciplinary Leadership Studies from the UofA, Rehma is a course instructor for INT D 101 Inspired to Dream: Becoming a Leader. She passionately advocates for health equity, community engagement, and inclusive education. Her experiences navigating healthcare challenges in a rural community shaped her dedication to addressing barriers in health and education for marginalized groups. Her leadership journey includes serving as president of the Students Invested in Health Association, where she managed a diverse team and fostered collaboration among international and local health projects.

Program Coordinator

Angela has been part of the 海角社区 for over 11 years, bringing her experience from Medicine & Dentistry and Computing Science to her current role at PLLC that began in 2022. She's the behind-the-scenes powerhouse who helps make everything run smoothly—from providing administrative support to students and coordinating lectures and workshops, to arranging staffing contracts and processing funding for student club leadership activities. Passionate about leadership and learning, Angela is always looking to learn and develop—and she’s excited to help students grow too!
