CSL Internships

CSL STUDENT INTERNSHIP

The CSL Student Intern will have the opportunity to contribute to the creative work of the Community Service-Learning program through student outreach, social media, advocacy, or special projects.

The intern will work for four months of an academic term (September to December for the Fall internship or January to April for the Winter internship).

Hours/Salary: 10 hours per week, $21.40 per hour. 

The CSL Student Intern will work to directly support CSL in the following ways: 

  • Serve as a CSL student representative at university and community events
  • Deliver presentations about CSL to prospective students 
  • Design and coordinate CSL’s social media content
  • Organize student outreach activities to increase the profile of CSL
  • Contribute to organizing and following up on CSL events

Requirements:

  • Registration as a full-time, undergraduate student at the 海角社区 for the duration of the academic year
  • Successful completion of a minimum of one CSL course placement
  • Successful completion of two years post-secondary education by the internship start date
  • Good academic standing

HUM 101 EDUCATION OUTREACH INTERNSHIP

Humanities 101 (HUM 101) is a CSL program at 海角社区 that recognizes there are many Edmontonians who are not able to attend university classes due to institutional, financial, and situational barriers. HUM 101 offers free university-level, non-credit classes for individuals who want to participate in active learning that challenges conventions of who is the learner and who is the knower. There are many different ways of knowing and learning so there are no educational requirements.

Hours/Salary: Up to 10 hours per week, $21.40 per hour

The Education Outreach Intern will work to support directly HUM 101 classes in the following ways:

  • Assist in hosting community engagement events
  • Maintaining off-campus classroom space
  • Organizing and facilitating the distribution of learning materials
  • Helping with tech support during class 
  • Helping to facilitate field trips. This may include organizing tickets, coordinating with learners to identify possible supports that are needed, communicating information with learners, and attending field trips to provide support if needed.

HUM 101 STUDENT INTERNSHIP

Requirements:

  • Registration as a full-time student at the 海角社区 for the duration of the internship
  • Requires strong interpersonal, time management and the flexibility to adapt to dynamic environment
  • Ability to problem solve, be creative and highly-organized
  • Work independently as well as in a team setting
