Partial Closures

On occasion, parts of the Garden will be closed for private events or maintenance. Upcoming closures will be listed below. 

Cafe al Fresco

New for 2025, Cafe al Fresco, operated by the Party People Catering Co., will be serving up a delectable assortment of fresh-made sandwiches, bowls, salads, hot dogs, ice cream and baked goods, along with coffee, cold beverages, wine and beer. Cafe al Fresco is open during regular Garden hours. Seniors (65+) receive a free coffee every Thursday from June 5 to September 25 as part of Seniors' Day.

Last call for orders is 15 minutes before the Garden closes.

Accessibility

Much of the Garden is accessible by wheelchair on hard-surface pathways. There are some areas, including natural areas where surfaces may be rough or uneven. Loaner wheelchairs are available at the Welcome Center on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Guests are encouraged to take personal photographs, but to protect plants and the enjoyment of other guests, some rules apply. DRONES ARE NOT PERMITTED.

First time to the Garden? Welcome!

If this is your first time visiting, we recommend reading through the information above to make the most of your time with us. We also recommend you bring the following:

  • Your camera — there are many photo opportunities!
  • Comfortable footwear will make your day a happier one.
  • Dress for the weather — in Alberta, you never know!
  • Protective items — bring sunscreen, insect repellant, and a sunhat (in winter, mitts, warm coats and hats!)
