Enjoy an evening of connection, creativity and celebration of Japanese culture in the Kurimoto Japanese Garden.

- Kita no Taiko Drummers
- Shinobue Flute and Keyboards with The Fake Samuraiz
- Japanese Tea Ceremonies

Most activities are included with purchase of general admission to the Garden; extra charges apply for food, tea ceremony tickets and floating lanterns.
Garden Members get free admission.
Advance booking is recommended.
Separate registration is required for tea ceremony tickets. Registration for tea tickets will begin Sept. 4.
The Pathways series of events celebrate the richness of diverse traditions and artistic expression, creating new connections between peoples through the universal language of the arts. These immersive events bring global traditions to life with performance, food, storytelling and art. Join us for an evening of cultural experience for the second Pathways series, centered in the Kurimoto Japanese Garden.

Starting at 5 p.m.
- Tracing Belonging - an immersive exhibit telling personal stories of Japanese-Albertans through the the photography of Nozomi Kamei [link to insta video]
- Ikebana Flower Arranging Display - Ikonobo Ikebana Club
- Children’s Activities
- Japanese Food
6:00 p.m. - Kendo Demonstration with Sturgeon Kendo
6:30 p.m. - Shinobue Flute and Keyboards with the Fake Samuraiz
6:30 p.m. - Japanese Tea Ceremony (tickets available Sept. 4)
7:00 p.m. - Kita no Taiko Drummers
7:30 p.m. - Japanese Tea Ceremony (tickets available Sept. 4)
Starting at dusk (approx. 7:00 p.m.) - Float a lantern in the pond to honour your ancestors and mark the end of summer

Important To Know
- This event will run rain or shine. In the event of rain, activities will be moved indoors to the Diwan Pavilion. There are no refunds if it rains. However, if there is a severe weather warning issued by Environment Canada, the Garden may cancel the event and refunds will be issued.
