Apply to live in residence
Residence Update
Residence applications for 2026-2027 are now open, apply today to secure your housing needs! Please contact housing@ualberta.ca if you need assistance.
Before you apply, check out our residences and unit types to find the building that meets your needs. Please also read our cancellation policy and electronic communications policy.
You can apply as early as September 30 the year prior to you attending university.
Application process
Step 1
Get your CCID
A Campus Computing ID (CCID) is the main way to access an abundance of campus resources, including applying to residence. To get one, you must first apply to a program. You will receive a CCID within 72 hours of applying (you do not need to be accepted or conditionally accepted to get a CCID).
Step 2
Submit your application and pay the fee
Log into your residence account using your CCID and fill out the application form. Pay the $25 non-refundable application fee by credit card and submit. Please fill out your application accurately and completely to ensure it gets processed and a spot is held for you in residence.
Fall 2026/Winter 2027
Step 3
Confirm your space
In late spring, check your 海角社区 email regularly for information about your room offer or selection.
- Students who applied to a first-year residence will be assigned a room which you can accept by completing the online confirmation contract in the housing portal.
- Students who applied to upper-year residence will be able to choose their building and room. Time slots for room selection are determined by application date, so apply early for the best selection.
Students applying for International House or Résidence Saint-Jean will not be eligible to choose their own room assignment.
