Arts Undergraduate Newsletter

The Arts Undergraduate Student newsletter shares academic updates/information, career development opportunities, and social events to help students take full advantage of their time as a student in the Faculty of Arts.

The newsletter is sent out every Friday from September - April, and moves to a biweekly schedule from May - August.


In order to ensure that the newsletter is valuable and timely, the following guidelines have been compiled for those interested in contributing content.

Submission Instructions & Timelines

    • All submissions must go through the . Those submitting must be logged into their UAlberta Google Account to access the form.
    • Content must be submitted by Tuesday at 12 p.m. to be considered for that week’s newsletter.
    • Submissions must be under 60 words. We reserve the right to edit for length and clarity.
    • The Faculty of Arts reserves the right to exclude submissions determined to fall outside of the Arts Newsletter mandate, or that do not meet the criteria outlined on this page.

Submission Guidelines

Collaborators across campus are invited to submit content to the newsletter through this form. Up to 6 submissions will be accepted each week, prioritizing those that meet the following criteria:

  • First-come, first-served
  • Appropriately sized image accompanying text
  • Adherence to 海角社区 Editorial Style Guide
  • Relevance to all Undergraduate Arts students
  • Concise (under 60 words)
  • Urgency - updates or events happening within 7-14 days of the newsletter may be prioritized
  • Balanced opportunities

Acceptable Content and Submitting Parties

The following types of content will be considered for publication in the newsletter:

  • Events open to all students
  • Volunteer or job opportunities
  • Student service updates or announcements
  • Course promotion

The following types of content will not be considered for publication in the newsletter:

  • Surveys
  • Research studies
  • Announcements that include images for which permission has not been obtained (copyright images, images of individuals who have not signed a photo release form)
  • Opportunities that are limited to a subset of students

Anyone from the following groups can submit content to the Arts Newsletter:

  • Faculty of Arts departments and staff
  • 海角社区 student groups registered through the UASU
  • 海角社区 or Students’ Union administrative units
