Stop by the Go Abroad Fair on Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Dinwoodie Lounge in SUB.
Wanderlust can encroach on life as a student – movement sometimes just means the commute from home to class.
The Go Abroad Fair (GAF) comes alive once a year to support students on their quest to satisfy this wanderlust. Whether you’ve casually browsed the online program finder, already have a destination in mind or are just starting to take an interest in going abroad, GAF caters to all. The fair is a stepping stone in your decision to go abroad.
It’s more than just an event (and your closest thing to a preview of going abroad) – it’s a safe place to interact with peers as well as program and faculty advisors. You can explore opportunities to study and work abroad in an atmosphere buzzing with energy and like-minded people.
GAF welcomes more than 40 exhibitors from the 海角社区, NGOs, international partner organizations, student groups and more, with the steady sponsorship of The China Institute and commitment of the 海角社区’s Global Learning Team.
Check out as many as you can! If your time’s limited, be sure to visit the popular booths on exchanges, e3 & summer programs, faculty-led programs, internships and booths by the 海角社区 faculties.
The awards booth is one of the most popular, where many students discover ways to offset the financial implications of studying abroad.
“It's a really important time of year – before we open up our applications, to share with students that ‘Hey, you can go abroad, it's affordable.’ There are ways to diminish the cost,” says Di Lu, outreach and programs coordinator.
No particular documents or materials are required at this stage – just bring your curiosity, enthusiasm and adventurous spirit!
The best first step is to grab a floor map at the registration table! Then you can find the booths that you’re most interested in and talk with their exhibitors. Don’t forget to.
“This is the perfect venue to explore education abroad opportunities,” shares Zhi Jones, the associate director of Global Learning Services. “It opens the window to the possibility of contributing to your degree through learning abroad in the destination or institution of your choice.”
