Launch of Campus Saint-Jean's history project
27 August 2025

The public questionnaire will remain open until 1 October.
Campus Saint-Jean is much more than an educational institution. Its history is deeply rooted in that of Western Canada and has shaped the lives of thousands of people. To honour this rich and complex history, and following commitments previously announced by the Campus administration, we are preparing a permanent presentation on the history of the Saint-Jean institution, in consultation with experts and members representing their communities.
However, we know that this history is not simple. The institution was founded by a missionary order that played a significant role in the colonization of Western Canada and in the management of numerous residential schools for Indigenous children.
In order for this exhibition to be authentic, comprehensive and respectful, we must listen to all voices. That is why we are launching this call for testimonials. We want to collect your memories, whether personal or family, your photos and your documents. Whether you were a student, employee, neighbour, or your family had contact with the institution, your contribution is essential.
Your stories will help us present an accurate portrait of our history, in an educational and neutral setting, acknowledging both the successes and the more difficult chapters. Each testimony will be treated with the utmost respect.
The form will remain available until 1 October.
We thank you for taking the time to share your story.
